I'm also considering a clerkship at the appellate division level. At my school there is resume collection and occasional (very rare) postings of clerkship position on the career services website for the 4th Dept. All 4 Depts and all the judges most certainly have clerks. Finding them is hard. A friend of mine is clerking this summer at the 1st Dept. in Manhattan through an internship program. But, her father got her into it.
My guess. talk to your career services folk. Call the courts themselves and ask.
My question for the Guru and/or former clerks... is an intermediate appellate clerkship worth it? It looks like the worst of both worlds... a year outside the law firm world, little prestige outside the small region, and almost no trial experience. But, is this an alternative for those of us outside the top 10%? Is top 25% enough?
